Lalli and a group of foreigners are waiting at a lighthouse for a supply drop from a viking ship after running out of food, pages 284-285. August.
Elder cousin commands him to sit and warns that something is after them again, pages 332-333. September.
Lalli's spidey sense goes off and he rushes into the cattank to shoot at a troll that's in the process of attacking his cousin Tuuri. He kills the troll and looks up to see Tuuri minimally wounded, pages 654-655. October.
Lalli uses his control over natural spirits to punch some invading idiot in the face with a tree for surprising him, pages 325-326. November.
Emil tries to speak Finnish and fails miserably, page 544. December.
Tuuri gently shakes an exhausted Lalli awake to confirm that the buildings around their new campsite Lalli found are safe, and then promises to give a proper apology for yelling at him when he's done sleeping, pages 409-410. January.
Lalli "exorcises" a bunch of spirits in the area because they're interfering with the radio. Really he just yells at them to leave Or Else, page 278. January.
Horses are fugly, pages 126-127. January.
Totally innocuous conversation with a Tuuri about hearing souls that are trapped and suffering in the mortal plane after their death, and how they may be that way for eternity, pages 740-742. February.
Lalli suddenly feels an intense, choking loss in his soul and gets up in a panic to investigate, even calling to the rest of the crew for help. His fears are confirmed as he follows Tuuri's footprints to water that takes a deep plunge, discovering beyond a doubt that she decided to end her life via drowning, pages 746-750. February.
While distracted, corrupted spirits of elk-like trolls grab at Lalli in the area outside his dreamscape haven and begin to pull him down into the depths. Using his magic abilities, he's able to escape, pages 209-213. February.
The existence of trolls, beasts, and giants. February.
A mourning Lalli buries himself against a tree, and reacts badly when the rest of the group approaches and tries to get him to leave. He tries to tell them to go in Swedish, but when that fails, he yells at them in Finnish that he needs to stay and they can't force him to leave before he makes sure Tuuri's spirit has safely passed on to the other side. On top of everything else, the only translator he had is dead, yay, pages 755-757. February.
The immune members of the crew attend a small cat funeral, which is crashed by an infected dog after only the two youngest are left. Lalli unsheathes his knife and moves to kill the beast, but Emil stops him and takes it upon himself to put the dog to rest. Lalli begins to return to the tank, but waits for Emil in a silent attempt at solidarity and comfort, pages 356-361. February.
Lalli Hotakainen has discovered yet another reason to be depressed, but when his mood is noticed by Tuuri, she forces his face into a show of happiness instead and says that they aren't going to be sad or worried. They're going to be happy and they're going to be okay. Lalli doubts but agrees, unwilling to go against her determination, page 697. February.

abilities

Finnish Mage Starter Kit. Ability to see the auras of souls, hear them, and recognize his own soul is different and communicate with his spirit animal/luonto internally. Solid manifestation/control/summoning of luonto on a physical plane. September.
Dreamspace. Ability to manifest a haven for his soul's safety and rest. If another haven or dreamspace in nearby, he can try to cross the spiritual sea separating them, but there is no discernible bottom to it, making it dangerous.
Singing. Lalli has regained the skill of his past self, as original Lalli was far more vocally trained than he's ever dreamed about.
Writing. Bad writing. His handwriting is now complete shit.
Magic upgrade. Lalli can more effectively manipulate spirits, particularly elemental spirits without much sense of individualism, as well as use his luonto in more effectively offensive ways.
